Monogram Column은 브랜드의 모노그램을 독립된 건축 기둥으로 전환하는 파라메트릭 시스템입니다. 마크는 원통을 따라 펼쳐지고, 금속 핀으로 돌출되며 하나의 수직 요소로 쌓입니다. 한 방향에서는 로고로, 다른 방향에서는 순수한 구조로 읽힙니다.

Monogram Column은 모노그램을 벽에서 떼어내 독립된 몸체로 세웁니다. Monogram Wall과 Monogram Facade가 면으로 작동한다면, 기둥은 공간 속의 오브제입니다. 그 둘레를 걷고, 기대고, 만나는 지점이 됩니다.

디자인의 출발점은 모노그램의 윤곽입니다. 윤곽은 원통 위에 매핑되어 수평 핀으로 나뉘고, 각 핀의 깊이는 마크를 따라 달라집니다. 정면에서는 로고가 부조로 드러나고, 측면에서는 리듬 있는 프로파일로 흩어집니다. 핀의 개수, 간격, 깊이를 파라메트릭하게 제어하므로 어떤 높이와 직경에도 맞춰 다시 계산할 수 있습니다.

각 핀은 스테인리스, 알루미늄, 황동 같은 금속 판재를 레이저 커팅해 만들고, 스페이서 링과 함께 구조용 강관 코어에 쌓습니다. 마감은 프로젝트마다 브러시, 블랙 산화, 아노다이징, 분체도장 중에서 고릅니다. 모든 핀이 평판 커팅 부품이라 기둥 한 본이 컴팩트한 키트로 납품되고, 현장에서 용접 없이 조립됩니다.

Grasshopper 기반 시스템이 마크의 매핑, 핀 형상, 구조 코어를 하나의 모델에서 제어하고, 커팅 파일과 핀 수량, 재료 물량을 제작용으로 바로 출력합니다. Monogram Column은 로비나 매장 전면에 단독으로 서거나, 열주로 늘어서 공간 전체에 브랜드를 이어 갑니다.

Monogram Column

A metallic column system where brand identity becomes architecture.

Monogram Column turns a brand's monogram into a free-standing architectural column. The mark is unrolled around a cylinder, extruded into metal fins and stacked into a vertical element that reads as a logo from one angle and as pure structure from another.

Monogram Column takes the monogram off the wall and gives it a body. Where Monogram Wall and Monogram Facade work as surfaces, the column is an object in the room: something to walk around, lean on and meet at.

Design begins with the monogram's outline. The contour is mapped onto a cylinder and sliced into horizontal fins; the depth of each fin follows the mark, so the logo appears as relief when seen from the front and dissolves into a rhythmic profile when seen from the side. The fin count, pitch and depth are parametric and re-solve to any column height and diameter.

Each fin is laser-cut from sheet metal — stainless steel, aluminium or brass — and stacked on a structural steel core with spacer rings. The finish is applied per project: brushed, blackened, anodised or powder-coated. Because every fin is a flat cut part, a full column ships as a compact kit and is assembled on site without welding.

A Grasshopper-based system controls the mapping of the mark, fin geometry and structural core in one model, and outputs cut files, fin counts and material quantities directly for fabrication. Monogram Column can stand alone in a lobby or shopfront, or repeat as a colonnade that carries the brand through a whole space.
