Monogram Pavement는 브랜드의 모노그램을 바닥 패턴으로 재해석하고, 그 패턴을 벤치와 테이블로 이어 가는 파라메트릭 플로어 시스템입니다. 브랜드 공간과 팝업스토어에서 방문객을 맞는 외부 가구까지 브랜드 아이덴티티의 일부로 만들어, 공간에 들어서는 순간부터 브랜드를 자연스럽게 경험하고 기억하게 합니다.

Monogram Pavement는 브랜드의 모노그램을 바닥 패턴으로 확장하고, 그 패턴이 공간 속에서 점차 입체가 되어 벤치와 테이블 같은 건축 가구로 바뀌는 파라메트릭 시스템입니다.

디자인은 평면 패턴에서 출발합니다. 모노그램은 반복과 추상화를 거쳐 포장(Paving) 패턴이 되고, 필요한 위치에서는 같은 지오메트리가 융기(Lifting)하며 바닥에서 가구로 이어집니다. 별도의 오브제를 놓는 대신 바닥 자체가 기능을 얻어, 앉고 머물고 사용하는 공간을 만듭니다.

패턴의 밀도와 방향, 융기의 높이와 길이, 벤치와 테이블의 배치는 모두 Grasshopper 기반 파라메트릭 시스템으로 제어하며, 프로젝트의 규모와 프로그램에 맞춰 자유롭게 조정할 수 있습니다. 하나의 설계 로직으로 여러 공간과 브랜드에 맞는 맞춤형 플로어 시스템을 만듭니다.

생성된 형상으로 CNC 스티로폼 몰드를 정밀 가공한 뒤, GFRC(Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete)를 타설해 최종 제품을 제작합니다. GFRC는 강도와 내구성이 높으면서도 복잡한 자유곡면과 얇은 단면을 정밀하게 구현할 수 있어, 파라메트릭 형상을 실제 건축 요소로 만들기에 적합합니다.

설계 단계에서는 다양한 패턴과 가구 구성을 실시간으로 생성해 비교하고, 재료 사용량과 제작 수량을 바탕으로 예상 제작 비용까지 산출해 디자인과 생산을 하나의 워크플로우로 잇습니다. Monogram Pavement에서 바닥은 마감재를 넘어, 브랜드와 공간, 사람의 활동을 잇는 건축적 플랫폼이 됩니다.

A parametric floor system where paving pattern grows into architectural furniture.

Monogram Pavement reinterprets a brand's monogram as a floor pattern, and lets that pattern rise naturally into benches and tables. In brand spaces and pop-up stores it folds the outdoor furniture that greets visitors into the identity itself, so the brand is experienced and remembered from the moment of arrival.

Monogram Pavement extends a brand's monogram into a floor pattern, and that pattern gradually gains volume within the space, turning into architectural furniture such as benches and tables.

Design begins in plan. The monogram passes through repetition and abstraction to form a paving pattern, and where needed the same geometry lifts naturally to carry the ground into furniture. Instead of placing separate objects, the floor itself acquires function, making places to sit, to linger, to use.

Pattern density and orientation, the height and length of each lift, and the placement of benches and tables are all controlled by a Grasshopper-based parametric system, adjustable to the scale and programme of the project. One design logic produces a bespoke floor system for many spaces and brands.

The generated form is CNC-machined as a styrofoam mould and cast in GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete). GFRC holds high strength and durability while resolving complex free-form surfaces and thin sections precisely, which suits building parametric geometry as a real architectural element.

During design, patterns and furniture arrangements are generated and compared in real time, while material volume and part counts drive an estimate of fabrication cost, connecting design and production in one integrated workflow. Monogram Pavement redefines the ground not as a finish, but as an architectural platform linking brand, space and human activity.
